Cleantech
Technological edge in environmental and energy technology
At our companies, Cleantech stands for the aim to increase efficiency, output and productivity through the use of innovative processes, products or services – always with an eye on the environment: emissions and waste are to be reduced and natural resources are to be protected.
The days when the use of environmental technologies was a voluntary exercise are long gone. The awareness regarding protecting the climate has arrived in business. Integrated environmental protection with innovative products and processes: institutes, associations, universities and companies are pushing forward with innovations that focus on clean technologies and change the entire value chain for the long term. Cleantech is a growth market that is increasingly being integrated into globalisation, digitalisation and Industry 4.0. With its six fields, it is developing rapidly here as well.
Six areas of expertise in Saxony-Anhalt accommodate the idea to a particular degree:
- energy generation
- energy storage
- energy efficiency
- raw material/material efficiency
- the circular economy and
- the water industry.
Centres of knowledge such as the research network Energieavantgarde Anhalt e.V. are moving an entire region to contribute to shaping the energy transition on a decentralised and connected basis. Additionally, the BioEconomy Cluster as well as the circular economy and the resource industry are working on connecting and marketing the special expertise and the strong technological positioning of these companies.
