Industry 4.0 meets artificial intelligence – Saxony-Anhalt’s economy has the potential

Saxony-Anhalt at the HANNOVER MESSE 2019

“Integrated Industry – Industrial Intelligence”, the digital networking of man and machine in the age of artificial intelligence – this is the topic of the world’s largest industrial exhibition this year, the HANNOVER MESSE. From 1 to 5 April 2019, more than 6,500 exhibitors from 70 countries will present all the relevant technologies along the industrial added value chain and show how the industry is positioning itself in times of Industry 4.0 and artificial intelligence, and what a highly automated material flow can contribute.

The industry of Saxony-Anhalt will once again be well represented at the HANNOVER MESSE. At the joint stand of the state of Saxony-Anhalt in hall 3/ booth M44, organised by the Investment and Marketing Corporation – The Economic Development Agency of the German Federal State of Saxony-Anhalt (IMG), six small and medium sized enterprises will demonstrate their efficiency and innovative strength, thus displaying the competitiveness of companies in Saxony-Anhalt. In addition, approximatly 25 further individual exhibitors from Saxony-Anhalt will be present at this year's HANNOVER MESSE.

In the run up to the trade show, Minister for Economics Prof. Dr. Armin Willingmann said: “The economy of Saxony-Anhalt, particularly with its strengths in mechanical and plant engineering, has the best conditions to convert the potential of Industry 4.0 and artificial intelligence into economic growth, security and increase in attractive jobs. Our research establishments and the close networking of science and economy have laid excellent foundations to accelerate the digital transformation into the future.”

Also at the joint stand of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, the start-up Indalyz Monitoring & Prognostics (IM&P) GmbH from Halle (Saale), a software company which has focussed on the development and implementation of forward looking maintenance strategies for machines, plants and vehicles, will be showcasing. Based on artificial intelligence, the forecasting software minimizes downtimes, sustainably reduces maintenance and operating costs and optimally organizes personnell and material requirements.

The family company MEWA GmbH is also presenting at the joint stand. As an experienced specialist, the company produces precision components made of metal, primarily for the areas of rail and medical technology. Production is carried out with state of the art drilling, turning, milling and pressing machines. 

Universities and research organisations from Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia present their current projects from research and development on the joint stand “Research for the Future” (Hall 2/ booth A38).

In the run up to the trade fair IMG-Managing Director Thomas Einsfelder said: “As the world’s leading trade fair for industry, HANNOVER offers our small and medium sized companies an excellent opportunity to present their great potential to a global audience, establishing and maintaining networks and thus gaining access to new markets. Therefore, the state of Saxony-Anhalt provides important support through its joint stand.”

State Secretary Dr. Jürgen Ude will attend HANNOVER MESSE on Monday, 1 April. The programme includes a tour of the joint stand “Research for the Future” (see above) at 10:30, and a visit to HORIBA FuelCon GmbH. State Secretary Thomas Wünsch will attend HANNOVER MESSE on Thursday, 4 April, and will visit the joint stand of Saxony-Anhalt at 11:30.

With the organization of the joint stand, an economic contribution is made by the IMG realizing the entire preparation, implementation and follow-up of the trade fair.
