In line with the guiding theme "Industrial Transformation - Making the Difference", HANNOVER MESSE 2023 will focus on high technology and innovative solutions to meet global, industrial challenges. The world's leading trade fair for industry is the only event where leading companies from the mechanical engineering, electrical and digital industries as well as the energy sector will jointly showcase solutions for a climate-friendly industry.

Saxony-Anhalt as a location for green energy

Saxony-Anhalt occupies a leading position in Germany in the expansion of renewable energies. Together with other exhibitors, the IMG will present Saxony-Anhalt as an energy location and answer important questions. 

Facts about Saxony-Anhalt as an energy location: 

  • 2020: Share of renewable energies in gross electricity generation at more than 61.5 percent. Saxony-Anhalt is thus well on the way to achieving the federal target of 80 percent by 2030.  

  • The mission: Saxony-Anhalt as a climate-neutral industrial location. To this end, in recent years, for example, numerous opportunities have been created for the development of an innovative hydrogen economy in the state and important projects have been initiated in the areas of research, production and infrastructure.  

  • According to figures from the Federal Network Agency, a total of 2,807 wind turbines are currently in operation in Saxony-Anhalt - 115 new turbines are planned for 2023. 

  • In addition to the processing of hydrogen, Saxony-Anhalt has also seen an immense increase in demand and implementation in the fields of "wind power", "solar energy", "bioenergy" and many other areas of renewable energy.

Focus topics of Hannover Messe 2023

Rarely has the situation been so challenging. On trial are: The economic success of globalisation, the associated prosperity and cooperation in supply chains. In this context, regardless of the classic focal points of "Industry 4.0", the topics of artificial intelligence and machine learning in particular are increasingly coming to the fore. In addition to process optimisation with the help of automation and machine-based learning, this also includes AI-based product simulation. Efficient and long-term sustainable energy management is clearly the basis for this.
