State Secretary hands over grant decision for just under 780,000 euros: Positive message for Schönebeck (Salzlandkreis) in Saxony-Anhalt: The aluminium factory there invests around 2.6 million euros in the construction of a production hall and warehouse and in the procurement of new machines and plants. This expansion is being supported by the region. State Secretary Thomas Wünsch today handed over the grant statement for just under 780,000 euros from the joint task “Improvement of the regional economic structure” (GRW) to owner Mathias Groß.

OPTERRA plant in Karsdorf lays the foundation stone for the KALINE immission control project: The OPTERRA plant in Karsdorf is gearing up for the future. The location in Saxony-Anhalt is going to be prepared for the future requirements of the 17th German Immission Control Act (BImSchV) over the next two years with the start of an extensive immission control project. The aim of the retrofit is to comply with or fall below the new values that the BImSchV stipulates for dust, ammoniac and nitrogen dioxide, which apply from 1 January 2019.

HA2 Medizintechnik GmbH is expanding its company: Another modern production site for the sterilisation of medical products is going to be built on the Ost business and industrial park. The industry is therefore continuously growing at Saxony-Anhalt’s medical technology location in Halberstadt. The new plant is expected to be completed during the course of this year. Ten jobs are initially being created with the investment to start with. The investment volume will be approx. EUR 7 million.

Henkel, APK, Borealis and Mondi are driving the circular economy of sustainable, flexible multilayer packaging: Mondi has tested the suitability of recycled LDPE from APK for multilayer films at its research and development centre in Gronau, Germany, and has carried out successful preliminary tests in a pilot plant on site. In this project, the LDPE virgin material previously used in flexible detergent packaging was largely replaced by APK LDPE recycle.
