Statement of the IMG Saxony-Anhalt on the murders and murder attempts in Halle

The Managing Director of the IMG Saxony-Anhalt, Thomas Einsfelder, and the staff team at the Investment and Marketing Corporation Saxony-Anhalt say "NO" to anti-Semitism, racism and discrimination.

“Our sympathy is with the families and friends of the people who were murdered in such a cowardly and devious way in Halle (Saale) on Wednesday, October 9th. We sincerely wish all of those who were injured a quick recovery.

We would like to thank all those who, with their work and personal commitment, stand up every day for a peaceful coexistence, a tolerant democracy and for Saxony-Anhalt as a cosmopolitan home, business location and travel destination.

These despicable murders must shake us up. Every individual is called upon to oppose and stand up to all forms of right-wing extremism, anti-Semitism and xenophobia in his or her environment.

Extremism, discrimination and violence have no place in Saxony-Anhalt. Saxony-Anhalt is and remains open to the world for guests whom we campaign for all over the world. Our economy depends on international exchange of goods, foreign investors and workers. Our universities and scientific institutions thrive off globalization. Together we must do everything we can to make sure that everyone feels welcome and safe here.”
