In its autumn projection, the Federal Government anticipates an increase in the real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 0.5 percent in 2013 and 1.7 percent in 2014. The Federal Minister of Economics and Technology, Dr. Philipp Rösler: "The German economy is back on track for solid growth. The main thrust of this growth is provided by the domestic economy: The mood among German companies is good, they are re-investing more in equipment and building. The traditional Stendal company took 2nd place in the 2013 German Foreign Trade Prize. IDT Biologika GmbH to acquire the Riemser Pharma GmbH production plant
The Riemser Pharma GmbH and IDT Biologika GmbH Companies have contractually agreed the acquisition of the Animal Health leftover sector as well as the production plant of Riemser Pharma GmbH in Greifswald on the Island of Riems by IDT Biologika (Riems) GmbH & Co. KG, a 100% subsidiary company of IDT Biologika GmbH. In the future, IDT Biologika will produce vaccines, primarily to be used in the field of veterinary medicine, in its new subsidiary company in Riems. The contract has been signed and the transfer of the company is envisaged for 1st November 2013. The employees of the new IBM Services Center in Magdeburg are in their starting blocks: Today they are going to move into new offices at "Universitätsplatz 10". The services provided by the IBM Services Center include the development and maintenance of IT applications, consultancy and system integration for local and international customers. The State Capital Magdeburg is the 2013 City Landmark – Magdeburg marketing praised in Berlin
The decision of the jury was announced on 24th October 2013 on the occasion of the annual Kulturmarken (Culture Brands) Awards. The bid submitted by the "Pro Magdeburg" e. V. City Marketing organisation prevailed in the final round over its two competitors Basel and Hildesheim. A total of nine cities from all over Germany had applied for this honour. Read more.
