The state of Saxony-Anhalt is to support the development of Roßlau Industrial Harbour with several million Euros. On 30.10.2012, State of Saxony-Anhalt Ministry of Science and Economic Affairs and Dessau-Roßlau District Council entered negotiations and achieved a successful result. Read more.


Eastern Germany: More jobs but less economic growth.
The Association German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) forecasts unemployment will continue to fall in the new federal states of Germany over the course of next year - in contrast to the picture in the west. The fall in unemployment in the east is attributable to an increase in the number of employees by 10,000 and demographic change, explained DIHK Director Martin Wansleben. Read more.


Continue the EU support for a successful economic and innovation policy!
Regions in longstanding and new EU member states have been campaigning for fair transitional solutions in the new period of funding. In a joint letter, the Minister Presidents of Brandenburg and Saxony-Anhalt, Matthias Platzeck and Dr. Reiner Haseloff, as well as the Head of the Polish Province of Mazovia, Adam Struzik, requested appropriate transitional arrangements to be set in place for regions that will no longer receive the highest levels of subsidy from 2014 because of their economic progress.
