Here the boss in his suit also gets stuck in: The Haute Couture of stainless steel technology is being created in the Hanseatic town of Salzwedel

"We find a solution for all customers. Nothing is off the peg here", says Dr. Peter Westerbarkey. Not only do domestic customers appreciate this but the company established in 1991 has long established a name for itself internationally as well. "We support every customer from the first design sketch to manufacturing." All requests made of stainless steel and aluminium have been able to be realised to date thanks to modern machinery, computer-aided construction and highly motivated and professional staff. Whether a stainless steel logotype for Havellandhalle Rathenow, an exhaust system for Autostadt Wolfsburg or airport in Frankfurt/Main, stainless steel puzzle parts processed into a floor or ventilation columns at Kaiserbahnhof train station in Potsdam, the team of high tech stainless steel forgers has previously always found a solution.

ERO initially began with the production of stainless steel exhaust systems, followed by stainless steel pipe systems for ventilation and air conditioning technology. "With the increased demand for customised products, we developed the "Special Solutions in Stainless Steel" department", explains Peter Westerbarkey proudly.

However, the list of fields of activity is far from over. This also includes the infrastructure for electric vehicles. So that electric cars and bikes don't ever run out of power in future, ERO has developed power charging columns which make it possible to tank up easily even in the rain and where you are then invoiced via mobile phone.

Another area is the manufacture of sintered active carbon block filters. "More than ten years ago we secured the international patent rights and together with my brother, Jan, established CARBONIT Filtertechnik GmbH."

One of the top engineering achievements of this other company is the so-called "Krisenfass", which was awarded with the Hugo Junkers Innovation Award 2006. Thanks to this development, residue can be filtered from ground and surface water producing drinking water quality. This tackles increasing water pollution and a lack of drinking water. "With this we can supply people in the poorest and remotest regions in the world with clean drinking water", says Peter Westerbarkey.

No surprise that the creative ideas from this enterprising company have already received several awards. These include the honour received just a few weeks ago by ERO Edelstahl-Rohrtechnik GmbH of the Altmark Business Award 2010.

The business award was presented under the motto "Build on a tried and tested basis, shape the future".

What projects are planned for 2011? "This year we plan to expand our machinery and acquire several electric vehicles, so-called Bullis. We want to gain experience with this type of mobility ourselves."
