“Oil Dialysis” - Clean engine oil instead of changing it

“The oil springs on this earth are not going to bubble away for all eternity. The use of oil dialysis preserves not only the environment, but also your wallet,” says Markus Kemper. This is no flight of fancy, as the first 25 machines are already in use and further oil dialysis machines should be commissioned by the end of the year. The motto of the young company is “Clean engine oil instead of changing it”. “We have found an exclusive sales partner in Europart in Hagen. We could not have wished for any better than the largest European vehicle parts supplier,” says Markus Kemper proudly. More than three years of research and development work at behind the initially unimposing blue box on wheels, which is about the size of a small washing machine. And this is how it works: The engine oil is pumped out of the vehicle into the dialysis machine. Using a microfilter, water, rust and small metal particles are filtered out and the oil is fed back into the engine. “Cleaned in this way, it fulfils all the required lubrication functions and is in no way inferior to fresh oil. Just 5% of the engine oil must be topped up due to the filtering.”Sales partner Europart leases the machines to shipping companies, workshops and fleet operators for commercial vehicles at a monthly lease price of €478. “We do not want to sell the machines, which cost about €20,000. We want to offer the users an optimal service. This means that the machine is always up to date with the latest technical state and every service centre is involved in the further development process. And thanks to GPS positioning, remote analysis of any occurring problems is possible,” explains Markus Kemper about the decision. If the machines were sold, the customer would be responsible for this himself. And a uniform standard would no longer be provided. The use for oil dialysis in cars is also being planned. An appropriate machine should be launched on the market in the coming year. The fact that major engine oil manufacturers are not impressed does not bother developer Markus Kemper. He believes in the environmentally-friendly breakthrough of his patent. He has just renovated his company headquarters on the site of the former Wissenschaftlich-Technischen Zentrum in Roßlau in order to start production. However, the entrepreneur is planning for the future, and has already bought the former Junkers headquarters in Dessau. From here, he would like to make his contribution to conservative handling of the raw materials still existing on earth.“I am not afraid of resistance. Even the city was initially sceptical. Today, the vehicle fleet of the Dessau transport Association, the city’s maintenance department and even the Fire Brigade have been converted.”Oil dialysis have a future, of this businessman Kemper is convinced. With an appropriate further development of the technology, the process can be used in all areas of engine lubrication. Construction machinery, power stations, ships, even hydraulic, and transmission oils could be reused. “That,” says Markus Kemper proudly, “is a project with a future.” Author: Dagmar PerschkeIMT Innovative Maschinen Technologie [Innovative Equipment Technology]Managing Director Markus KemperKarl-Liebknecht-Straße 3806862 Dessau RoßlauTel.: +49 34901/59 79 10E-Mail: info@imt-dessau.de
