Chanel No.5 of Saxony-Anhalt celebrates its birthday. The winning track that Miltitz Aromatics GmbH has been on for 20 years is perfumed. The producer of aromatic and fragrance products was established in Saxony in August 1992, before moving to the Bitterfeld-Wolfen chemicals park one year later.

Today mover 100 customers in 27 countries work with the essences from Saxony-Anhalt. The total quantity of products made for the perfume and the foods industries each year has expanded almost thirty times over, from 35 to 1,000 tonnes. The house of fragrances holds several patents. 20 percent of the now 50 employees work in research and development, explains Director Peter Müller. A star of the fragrances made by Miltitz Aromatics is the base material for the legendary perfume Chanel No 5. Further information is available here.


A big order from Daimler ensures Carcoustics of Haldensleben has its work cut out.
The site of auto supplier Carcoustics in Haldesleben has been secured for many years to come thanks to a multi-million Euro order from Daimler. The company makes special foam components which improve the acoustics in vehicle interiors. What a feeling: the engine is purring, the sound system is quietly working and the sun is streaming through the open roof. Those lucky enough to glide through the country so pleasantly also have a company from Saxony-Anhalt to thank. LANXESS confirms 2012 forecast after a strong second quarter. Specialty chemicals Group LANXESS continued to grow in the second quarter. EBITDA pre exceptionals rose by 6.8 percent year-on-year to EUR 362 million. Sales advanced by 8.1 percent to EUR 2.42 billion. Read the details here.


KSB Group posts significant sales revenue growth.
Between January and June 2012, pumps and valves manufacturer KSB improved its sales revenue by € 128 million to € 1,098.5 million, which represents a 13.2 percent increase compared with the first six months of the previous year. According to its half-year financial report published today, the company recorded sales revenue growth in all three segments: Pumps, Valves and Service. Read more.     


Kathi wins the IQ innovation prize for central Germany. Ready baking mixes are useful products - but they don't exactly stir the emotions. That this is now a thing of the past has been demonstrated by a disposable baking tray from KATHI Rainer Thiele GmbH, which has been awarded the IQ Cluster Prize from the food industry.

The foods industry in Germany is characterized by its abundance, with a readily available and very wide ranging offering. For the consumer this means an almost limitless choice of products and by European standards, low prices. For companies in the food industry, however, it means having to survive on low profit margins in saturated markets. "This also applies to providers of baking mix.
