Roofing ceremony for papermill in Sandersdorf-Brehna

  • Progroup AG invests around 500 million Euro
  • Largest investment project currently underway in Saxony-Anhalt
  • Trend-setting in terms of environmental protection, energy efficiency and sustainability

Sandersdorf-Brehna/Landau. After a construction period of only seven months, Progroup AG celebrates the topping-out ceremony for its new, ultra-modern paper mill in Saxony-Anhalt in the presence of around 400 guests from politics, administration, trade and industry.

The heart of the new mill is one of the most modern and efficient paper machines in the world for the production of environmentally friendly and high-quality corrugated base paper. The plant will have an annual capacity of 750,000 tons. The company will thus increase its production of corrugated base paper from 1.1 million tons to around 1.85 million tons per year.

As the fastest organically growing manufacturer of corrugated base paper and corrugated board in Europe, Progroup is clearly committed to Germany as a business location. The total investment of 465 million euros currently turns the project into the largest investment project in Saxony-Anhalt. While employment in other regions of Germany is stagnating in some cases, this new location will create around 150 direct and up to 350 indirect jobs with high future potential.
