New production facility for high-purity, compacted potassium chloride bolsters Zielitz Potash Plant. K+S KALI GmbH invests about 20 million euros at its Zielitz Potash Plant in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, in the construction of a new production facility for high-purity, compacted potassium chloride. The facility was commissioned today in the presence of Dr. Reiner Haseloff, the minister president of the Federal State of Saxony-Anhalt, Ministers Holger Stahlknecht (Ministry for the Interior and Sport) and Thomas Webel (Ministry of Regional Development and Transport) as well as Gerd Grimmig, member of the K+S Board of Executive Directors, and Plant Manager Martin Westphal. Over 30 solar projects with ITS modules win French tenders. Greener than Green: preference given to especially eco-friendly solar modules. Around 20 percent of the 177 photovoltaic projects approved by the French environment ministry in its first round of tender invitations are to be realized using modules from Innotech Solar (ITS). As CO2 levels account for one third of the weighting in French tenders, ITS modules enjoyed a clear competitive advantage in the bidding process thanks to their excellent carbon footprint. Overall, solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 40.3 megawatts (MW) were awarded contracts. Read more.

Patented Pigments From Leuna Throughout The World. The Finnish firm FP-Pigments expands its production: after it was established in 2008, FP-Pigments GmbH inaugurated its production plant in the summer of 2009 on an area of about 10,000 square meters at the chemical site Leuna. Thanks to the expansion of its production facilities, the production capacity has more than doubled. Additionally, a second production line and a warehouse were built by the end of 2013. The total investment of several million euros was supported anew by regional, national and EU funds, thus increasing the staff to at least 30 full-time jobs. Read more.
