Radici holds topping out for new boiler plant. In the presence of Minister-President Dr Reiner Haseloff, chemical company Radici Chimica had a topping out ceremony for a new boiler plant in its factory in the Zeitz chemical and industrial park. The boiler is intended to provide the company with electricity and steam. “The construction of the new plant underlines the ability of our chemical industry to adjust to future challenges. This includes a safe and environmentally-friendly energy supply,” emphasised Haseloff today in Elsteraue. Read more.


Akzo Nobel modernises Bitterfeld site. Speciality chemical manufacturer Akzo Nobel relies on its site in Bitterfeld in Eastern Germany. General Manager of Chloralkali, Martin Riswick, announced on Wednesday at the commissioning of a new measuring station that the company will invest further there. Plant manager Stefan Kauerauf added that between 2.5 and 3 million euros have been invested in Bitterfeld every year since the year 2000. Read more.


Decision to locate in the innovation location of Saxony-Anhalt.
Ukrainian investor wants to initiate production that is unique in the world in Colbitz. Ecobioton GmbH has decided on locating in Saxony-Anhalt. The Elbe / Heide industrial park in Colbitz is set to be the new home of its production facility for natural beta carotene. The company will be investing around 12 million Euros and creating 37 new permanent jobs. The firm is also planning to open its own R&D department for quality assurance and further development. Experts from Saxony-Anhalt advertise in California for the innovation location. Following the trip by the Minister-President of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, Dr. Reiner Haseloff, in the spring of 2012, and the investor publicity event and state presentation held at Stanford University in the course of this trip, Saxony-Anhalt will once again be on the scene in California from 22 – 24 January. The promising contacts established then shall be continued and deepened once again, and new contacts shall be generated in the course of workshops, one-to-one conversations and during corporate visits. Sunovis and Hanwha Q CELLS launch 1 MW PV system. The Sunovis GmbH and Hanwha Q CELLS have launched a 1 MW industrial rooftop PV installation in Jessen, Saxony-Anhalt. The installation was planned and implemented by the German solar developer Sunovis GmbH and uses the Q.FLAT system for commercial and industrial flat roofs of Hanwha Q CELLS. Read more.
