Ground-breaking Ceremony for new Investment by Novelis in Nachterstedt. In the presence of State Premier Dr Reiner Haseloff and Minister of Science and Economic Affairs Prof. Dr Birgitta Wolff, US company Novelis completed the ground-breaking ceremony for a new aluminium recycling centre in Nachterstedt. "On the one hand this investment is a sign of the strong economic development in Saxony-Anhalt, while on the other, it highlights the important role that foreign investors are playing in our region," praised Haseloff. Minister Wolff, University Clinic and Nielsen sign a memorandum of understanding.
The Magdeburg University Clinic for Neurology and the globally active information and consumer research company Nielsen which is based in New York and Diemen (Netherlands) intend to co-operate closely in the future. In a shared clinical research study, research will be undertaken to ascertain whether the electrodes headset MYND™ patented by Nielsen NeuroFocus is suitable for the remote neurological monitoring of patients (EEG Home Monitoring) and for additional applications. The success of company Probiodrug AG in the area of Alzheimer's research has recently attracted interest. Together with the Magdeburg Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology and further academic partners, this company, from Halle (Saale) has discovered the molecular illness mechanism that leads to the killing of nerve cells - an important step towards a medicine to treat Alzheimer's. The world's longest aircraft advertises for Saxony-Anhalt
As confirmed by a Lufthansa spokesman on Wednesday, the longest passenger aircraft in the world, a Boeing 747-8 is set to carry the name of our federal state. The final date for the christening of the aircraft has not been confirmed. A Boeing 747-400 had previously carried the name of the state.
