Traffic Developments at Central German Airports during the First Half of 2012. Significant Growth in Passenger and Freight Traffic at Leipzig/Halle Airport. There was a significant rise in the number of passengers starting or finishing their journey at Leipzig/Halle Airport in particular. The number of passengers in this sector rose by 14.8 percent to a figure of 896,023* from January to June in comparison to the previous year. The marjoram factory in Aschersleben has opened a new drying hall. The Ministry of Agriculture in Magdeburg announced that it cost roughly 1.9 million Euros to build, with 467,000 Euros of financial support coming from the state. Study unique in Germany examines the potential for creative hand crafts in Saxony-Anhalt. Saxony-Anhalt Minister of Science and Economic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Birgitta Wolff: Hand crafts and the creative industries can learn a lot from each other. "The results of the study and the success stories in this brochure prove that creative professionals and those who work with their hands can learn a lot from each other." So highlighted Prof. Dr. Birgitta Wolff on the publication of a brochure on the cultural and creative potential of hand crafts in Saxony-Anhalt. "The state government will therefore be intensively supporting the close networking of both sectors. On 25 August 2012 starting from 10.00 hrs. the historic harvest festival is taking place at the estate of the International Plant Centre, the DLG, in Bernburg-Strenzfeld. With a big farmers' market and many interesting events such as the carriage and tractor parade the harvest festival offers special insights into country life from today and yesterday. The festival, which is taking place this year for the 16th time, has been organised by Anhalt University of Applied Science and the State Office for Agriculture, Forestry and Horticulture. Bringing the worlds of science and business closer together to give the companies in the state access to new knowledge and to enable innovations - such is the key goal of the transfer vouchers which have been distributed by the Ministry of Science and Economic Affairs since the beginning of the year. These vouchers support student's projects at the universities who cooperate with businesses. These can be projects or final year dissertations. Investitionsbank takes stock with the State Finance Minister. The Stimulus Package II - successful against the crisis. Finance Minister Jens Bullerjahn and the head of the Investitionsbank of Saxony-Anhalt (IB), Manfred Maas, have taken stock of the Stimulus Package II (K II) in Saxony-Anhalt today. The IB has received the order to transfer almost half of the entire funds of 475 million Euros. A successful year for the State’s “Women in Managerial Functions” advisory committee. Exactly a year ago, Saxony-Anhalt’s Minister President Dr. Reiner Haseloff appointed the “Women in Managerial Functions” advisory committee. “As an independent advisory body with members from business, science and administration, we see our duties in advising the Minister President and developing recommendations for the promotion of women in managerial functions, which can also be implemented in practice.
