With the anniversary motif "Anhalt800", Saxony-Anhalt is on its way on the long-distance tracks of the Deutsche Bahn. On the occasion of the 800 year anniversary of the Anhalt region, in the Dessau factory of DB Fahrzeuginstandhaltung GmbH, a DB electric train was sent on a long journey bearing anniversary motifs today. Of course, it does not work exactly as in the fairy tale, but in Zörbig near Bitterfeld money can now be made with the renewable, up to now hardly utilised raw material and the burden on the environment can be relieved at the same time. The VERBIO Vereinigte BioEnergie AG set up and put into operation the world’s first industrial biomethane plant here in mid-March. The facility can process the raw material which is hard to digest for bacteria. Local producers will supply 20,000 tonnes of straw annually. Bio natural gas with an energy content of about five MW per year will be produced from the finely chopped, moistened mass with the new technology. Click here to read more.

Bahngipfel in Sachsen-Anhalt: Landesregierung und Deutsche Bahn treiben Schienenausbau voran! Auf dem Bahngipfel in Magdeburg am 04.
