Federal state on the move

When the EXPO REAL trade fair halls open up for the 13th time from 4 to 6 October in Munich, the State of Saxony-Anhalt will also be represented again with a shared exhibition stand at the international trade fair for commercial property and investments. The exhibitors in the Bavarian state capital include, among others, the cities Magdeburg, Dessau-Rosslau, Haldensleben, Schönebeck and the Stendal region. Moreover, enterprises and institutions such as the Wohnungsbaugenossenschaft Magdeburg (housing cooperative), the GSA Grundstücksfonds Sachsen-Anhalt (commercial property funds), the EWG Entwicklungs- und Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft Anhalt-Bitterfeld (development & economic promotion) as well as the  Landkreis Wittenberg Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft (economic promotion) will be presenting their offers and services for the international commercial property sector.

The trade fair management had only supplemented the subtitle of the event with the word “investments” in the beginning of the year. The expanded orientation of EXPO REAL also aptly pertains to the offer from Saxony-Anhalt. “Our federal state is not only one of the most interesting locations for the real estate industry, but offers numerous incentives for investors due to its outstanding infrastructure, the efficient administration and the good promotional landscape, amongst other things.”, explains Dr. Carlhans Uhle, managing director of the Investment and Marketing Corporation Saxony-Anhalt (IMG). As the settlement and marketing agency for the Federal State of Saxony-Anhalt, IMG is responsible for all services pertaining to settlement – from acquisition to start of production – and also provides target-aimed public relations in the region.

Focussing on the logistics sector will be a special emphasis of this year’s trade fair appearance. “Saxony-Anhalt will expand into a national and European logistics hub in the years to come. We have an outstanding location in Europe and want to make us of this locational advantage for us”, says Saxony-Anhalt’s Transport Minister Dr. Karl-Heinz Daehre. The Saxony-Anhalt Logistics Initiative was recently established with support from IMG for this purpose. The marketing platform for the state’s logistics sector shall successfully network investors and producing entrepreneurs, shipping agents as well as logistics service providers with each other.

The chances are good for this: ten of the 17 Verkehrsprojekte Deutsche Einheit (German Unity Transport Projects) run across the state. This includes five railway, four road as well as one waterway project. “In Saxony-Anhalt the transport carriers are optimally linked with each other. For a dynamic business location, the quality of commercial infrastructure is an advertisement in the national and international competition”, sums up Dr. Reiner Haseloff, Minister of Economic Affairs and Employment.
