Explanation of the most important terms and principles

Personal data means individual details about personal or factual circumstances of a specific or (with a certain amount of effort) identifiable natural person, i.e. in addition to the name, address and telephone number, all other data that describe this person or their behavior in any way. In particular, this includes all digital data traces that each
of us leaves behind by using the Internet on the World Wide Web. This person and their data is also referred to as the data subject.

The processing of your (personal) data includes all activities from collection, storage, use, modification, transmission or disclosure to deletion. It does not matter whether this is done electronically, i.e. by computer, or otherwise, e.g. on paper.

Specific data processing of your personal data is also referred to as a processing activity. Each processing activity pursues a specific, specified processing purpose and requires, among other things, a specific legal basis, which must also be specified, otherwise the processing is not permitted.

The controller is the person who ultimately determines the purposes and means of processing your data. It does not matter whether the controller is a person, company or other association, public body or similar. The controller may decide on the purposes and means of processing alone, together with others or on behalf of a third party.

Data processing on our website

General information

When you visit our website, various data is processed in order to analyze and improve the use of our information offering and to identify and rectify possible weaknesses.

Server log files

When you visit our website, information is collected and stored in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are Browser type and browser version, operating system used, referrer URL (original website from which the user came to our website or file), host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request and the
IP address.

This data is processed on the servers of our Internet service provider. This data is not merged with other data sources. This processing activity is not the basis for automated decision-making (profiling). We reserve the right to check this data retrospectively if we become aware of specific indications of unlawful use
.

The legal basis for data processing is our legitimate interest after weighing up all risks (see Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). Our interest here is: publicizing our company to the public, advertising on our own behalf, providing information about our range of services and supporting the initiation of business contacts by publishing suitable contact options for interested parties and business partners, improving the user-friendliness of our information offering.

The storage period is one year.

SSL or TLS encryption

This site uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or inquiries that you send to us as the site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line.

If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Cookies

Some of the Internet pages use so-called cookies. Cookies do not damage your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies are used to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are so-called "session cookies". They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognize your browser on your next visit.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be restricted.

Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process or to provide certain functions that you have requested (e.g. shopping cart function) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of its services. Insofar as

Adcell

The controller has integrated components of Adcell on this website. Adcell is a German affiliate network that offers affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is an Internet-supported form of distribution that enables commercial operators of Internet sites, known as merchants or advertisers, to display advertising, which is usually remunerated via click or sale commissions, on third-party Internet sites, i.e. with distribution partners, also known as affiliates or publishers. The merchant provides an advertising medium via the affiliate network, i.e. an advertising banner or other suitable means of Internet advertising, which is subsequently integrated by an affiliate on their own website or advertised via other channels, such as keyword advertising or e-mail marketing.

The operating company of Adcell is Firstlead GmbH, Rosenfelder Str. 15-16, 10315 Berlin, Germany.

Adcell places a cookie on the data subject's IT system. What cookies are has already been explained above. The tracking cookie from Adcell does not store any personal data. Only the identification number of the affiliate, i.e. the partner referring the potential customer, as well as the order number of the visitor to a website and the advertising material clicked on are stored. The purpose of storing this data is to process commission payments between a merchant and the affiliate, which are processed via the affiliate network, i.e. Adcell.

The data subject may, at any time, prevent the setting of cookies by means of a corresponding setting of the Internet browser used, and may thus permanently deny the setting of cookies. Such an adjustment to the Internet browser used would also prevent Adcell from setting a cookie on the information technology system of the data subject. In addition, cookies already set by Adcell can be deleted at any time via an Internet browser or other software programs.

The applicable data protection provisions of Adcell may be accessed under www.adcell.de/agb.

Data processing in our social networks

General information

We maintain publicly accessible profiles on social networks. The individual social networks we use are listed below.

Social networks such as Facebook, Google+ etc. can generally analyze your user behavior comprehensively when you visit their website or a website with integrated social media content (e.g. like buttons or advertising banners). Visiting our social media presences triggers numerous data protection-relevant processing operations. In detail:

If you are logged into your social media account and visit our social media presence, the operator of the social media portal can assign this visit to your user account. However, your personal data may also be collected if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective social media portal. In this case, this data collection takes place
, for example, via cookies that are stored on your end device or by recording your IP address.

With the help of the data collected in this way, the operators of the social media portals can create user profiles in which your preferences and interests are stored. In this way, interest-based advertising can be displayed to you inside and outside the respective social media presence. If you have an account with the respective social network, the interest-based advertising can be displayed on all devices on which you are logged in or have been logged in.

Please also note that we cannot track all processing operations on the social media portals. Depending on the provider, further processing operations may therefore be carried out by the operators of the social media portals. For details, please refer to the terms of use and data protection provisions of the respective social media portals.

Legal basis

Our social media presences are intended to ensure the widest possible presence on the internet. This is a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The analysis processes initiated by the social networks may be based on different legal bases, which must be specified by the operators of the social networks (e.g. consent within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR).

Controller and assertion of rights

If you visit one of our social media sites (e.g. Facebook), we are jointly responsible with the operator of the social media platform for the data processing operations triggered during this visit. In principle, you can assert your rights (information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and complaint) both against us and against the operator of the
social media portal (e.g. Facebook).

Please note that, despite the joint responsibility with the social media portal operators, we do not have full influence on the data processing operations of the social media portals. Our options depend largely on the company policy of the respective provider.

Storage duration

The data collected directly by us via the social media presence will be deleted from our systems as soon as the purpose for its storage no longer applies, you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage or the purpose for data storage no longer applies. Stored cookies remain on your end device until you delete them. Mandatory statutory provisions - in particular retention periods - remain unaffected.

We have no influence on the storage period of your data that is stored by the operators of social networks for their own purposes. For details, please contact the operators of the social networks directly (e.g. in their privacy policy, see below).

Newsletter / Report INVEST

For information and marketing purposes as well as to improve and support our cultural and service offering, we provide media representatives, analysts, politicians, tour operators, government employees and representatives and other interested parties with event-related information on Saxony-Anhalt as a tourism, business and science location as well as on events and campaigns via our newsletter.

We use Evalanche to send newsletters. The provider is Tripicchio - a brand of port-neo Freiburg GmbH i.Gr., Engesserstr. 4a, 79108 Freiburg. Evalanche is a service with which, among other things, the sending of newsletters can be organized and analyzed. If you enter data for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter, it will be stored on Evalanche's servers. You can find more information in Tripicchio's privacy policy: www.tripicchio.de/datenschutz

With the help of Evalanche, we can analyze our newsletter campaigns. When you open an email sent with Evalanche, a file contained in the email (known as a web beacon) connects to Evalanche's servers. This makes it possible to determine whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links, if any, have been clicked on. Technical information is also collected (e.g. time of access, IP address, browser type and operating system). This information cannot be assigned to the respective newsletter recipient. It is used exclusively for the statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. The results of these analyses can be used to better adapt future newsletters to the interests of the recipients.

If you do not wish to be analyzed by Evalanche, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter.

Your e-mail address is mandatory for subscribing to the newsletter. We may collect further data in order to address you personally in our newsletter emails. However, this information is voluntary.

We use the double opt-in procedure to subscribe to the newsletter. If your e-mail address is used to subscribe to the newsletter, you will receive an e-mail with a confirmation link. If you have changed your mind and do not wish to subscribe to our newsletter after all, you can simply delete this e-mail. Only when you confirm the link will your subscription to the newsletter become active. Otherwise the link will expire within 24 hours. Your data will initially be blocked for traceability purposes and automatically deleted after one month.

Data processing takes place on the basis of your consent. You can revoke this consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter by clicking on the unsubscribe link in every newsletter e-mail. The legality of the data processing operations that have already taken place remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data you provide us with for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and deleted from both our servers and Evalanche's servers after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Data stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected by this.

As the organizer, we collect and use participants' personal data as part of our legitimate interest in holding and managing the events. participants request its deletion. Mandatory statutory provisions - in particular retention periods - remain unaffected.

We collect and process your data when you apply to us. Processing may also take place electronically, usually by e-mail. If your application then leads to an employment or similar contract, the data transmitted and subsequently other data will be stored for the purpose of processing the employment relationship in compliance with the statutory provisions. If no contract is concluded, we will automatically delete the application documents six months after the rejection or destroy them in accordance with data protection regulations, provided that deletion or destruction does not conflict with any other legitimate interests on our part. Such a legitimate interest would be, for example, a burden of proof in proceedings under the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG).

Future changes to our data protection information

In order to ensure that our data protection information always complies with the current legal requirements, we reserve the right to make changes at any time. This also applies in the event that the data protection information has to be adapted due to new or revised services, for example new services, products or functions on the website or other processing activities.
