VORSPRUNG - Magdeburg-based medical technology company Neoscan Solutions honored at the Federal Chancellery
The Minister of Economic Affairs of Saxony-Anhalt, Sven Schulze, congratulates: "I have had the opportunity to observe how business and science have worked hand in hand for success, achieving significant milestones in Magdeburg."
For the fifth time, 'Germany – Land of Ideas' is awarding the VORSPRUNG economic prize today. The award recognizes particularly innovative companies whose business models, products, or developments have the potential to shape the future of the economy in eastern Germany and thus serve as role models for the transformation of the economy in eastern Germany.
This year, one of the coveted awards goes to Magdeburg-based medical technology company Neoscan Solutions, which was nominated by the Investment and Marketing Corporation of the State of Saxony-Anhalt (IMG).
"At the outset, we at Neoscan asked ourselves, how can we provide more people access to MRI? We then delved into the matter and developed an entirely new magnetic technology. It turned out that the new technology is much more energy-efficient and allows us to close the product cycle. Seeing how the initial idea has evolved into a certified medical device fills us with pride. Being honored with the VORSPRUNG economic prize for this achievement is very rewarding and indeed an honor," says Dr. Stefan Röll, Managing Director of Neoscan.
"I have been involved with Neoscan Solutions since 2019. The positive development in recent years has been achieved mainly through a highly qualified team, the support of our regionally rooted investors, and the network at the Stimulate research campus, where we are embedded in the Magdeburg Science Port. Here, we are closely connected professionally. The proximity to Otto von Guericke University gives us access to qualified students whom we actively involve in our projects even before they graduate," adds Dirk Meyer, also Managing Director of Neoscan.
The Minister of Economic Affairs of Saxony-Anhalt, Sven Schulze, is among the first to congratulate: "The fact that Neoscan Solutions emerges as one of the winners of this year's VORSPRUNG economic competition fills me with great pride. Firstly, because it is a company from Saxony-Anhalt that we have supported with more than one million euros since 2017. But also, because I have closely followed Neoscan's progress since its inception. I have observed how business and science have worked hand in hand for success, achieving significant milestones in Magdeburg. Today, it is clear that with its innovative MRI devices, Neoscan is an outstanding example of a strong medical technology sector in our federal state. And I am convinced that this development is far from over," says the minister.
"We congratulate the entire team of Neoscan Solutions and are delighted for the company that we can contribute to highlighting it as a representative of the countless innovative medium-sized companies in Saxony-Anhalt. The company is a pioneer in its industry, mastering challenges with impressive competence, demonstrating high innovation drive and sustainable growth, and thus serving as a model for the transformation and future of the economy not only in eastern Germany. Visionaries like Dr. Stefan Röll make the difference and drive the economy forward with great ideas and tremendous energy," says Dr. Robert Franke, Managing Director of IMG.
Background on the Company:
Neoscan Solutions is a medical device manufacturer founded in 2017 in the Magdeburg Science Port, employing 36 professionals. The company focuses on the development, manufacturing, distribution, and servicing of innovative technology in the field of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The portfolio includes an MRI system for infants, research devices, software, and equipment needed for applications. Neoscan is the only MRI company to use high-temperature superconductor magnets, known as HTS magnets. What makes these magnets special is that they are not only compact and lightweight but also repairable and thus reusable. In combination with local RF shielding, this results in lower installation, operating, and maintenance costs for hospitals. Children's hospitals can install the neo315-MRI, specifically developed for pediatrics, directly on the ward. This spares premature and newborns the journey to radiology.
