Company with unique recycling technology invests 20 million euros: Seraplant

Topping out ceremony in Haldensleben: Wünsch presents funding agreement with a value of 4.95 million euros to Seraplant

Turning manure into gold – a phrase that sums up the business idea of Seraplant GmbH: the company is currently building a production plant in Haldensleben (district of Börde) in which phosphorus fertiliser for agriculture and forestry is to be produced from sewage sludge ash using a unique and especially environmentally friendly form of recycling technology. A total of 22 new jobs are to be created; the start of production is planned for the autumn of 2020.

Seraplant GmbH is investing approximately 20 million euros in the Haldensleben Südhafen for the project, 4.95 million euros of which is funding from the common task for the "Improvement of the regional economic structure" (GRW). On the occasion of today's topping-out ceremony, State Secretary Thomas Wünsch presented the funding agreement to the Managing Directors of Seraplant Torsten Brumme and Henning Schmidt.

Wünsch: “This plant, which is unique in Germany, will strengthen the location of Haldensleben and provide a boost to the recycling industry. When high-quality fertilisers are produced using former waste materials, the environment also benefits. I am delighted that this innovative project is being completed in Saxony-Anhalt.”
