The German federal state highlights its innovation and economy potential at the China International Battery Fair in Shenzhen
The basis of the e-mobility are innovative system solutions for electric loading and storing. The German federal State of Saxony-Anhalt is establishing itself as a leading research and production location for energy carriers, drive technologies and intelligent transport and logistics systems. From 24th to 26th May, the Investment and Marketing Corporation Saxony-Anhalt (IMG), the economic development agency of the German federal state, will attend the China International Battery Fair 2016 in Shenzhen, one of the largest trade shows for rechargeable batteries.
At booth 1AT18-5, located at the German Pavilion, IMG will be showcasing the strengths of Saxony-Anhalt as an attractive investment location for the electro mobility sector and the related battery industry, and present the superb interdisciplinary working conditions and research activities in the federal state. Renowned specialized research institutes in Saxony-Anhalt not only contribute to the state’s high technological standard. They also act as partners in research and development and help companies in the state accelerating their market entry and optimizing processes.
The IKAM research institute is an example for Saxony-Anhalt’s excellence in the area of R&D for fuel cells. At its sites in Magdeburg and Barleben, it provides facilities and services for the testing of batteries and fuel cells for electric vehicles for research purposes. Scientists at the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg research in the field of fuel cells and have worked successfully in international projects, the Harz University of Applied Sciences develops electric drive and control systems, the ifak research institute for automation and communication inter alia is researching inductive charging towards “interoperability”, optimized methods for the application of batteries for electric buses of public transport companies or cost-effective charging infrastructures for the special requirements of electric buses.
The city of Barleben, located in the north of Saxony-Anhalt, is a competence centre for fuel cells in the state. Here, for example, the company FuelCon AG has made a name for itself with its test benches for fuel cell systems, Elektromotoren und Gerätebau Barleben GmbH is inter alia expert for special drives, PT&B SILCOR GmbH develops for example coatings in fuel cells. Currently an innovation and foundation centre for the research and development, the Zentrum für Elektromobilität und Energieeffizienz – ZEE is being built in Barleben, which will provide offices and production halls to companies and start-ups related to e-mobility and energy efficiency.
We look forward to welcoming you at booth 1AT18-5 at the German Pavilion.
The China International Battery Fair (CIBF) is being held every two years. CIBF has has become a regular battery event in China. The trade show is a prominent meeting venue for battery manufacturers and users to exchange ideas on new technology, expand their markets and promote their products and services to customers in the worldwide marketplace.
