Innovative strength, entrepreneurial spirit and the courage to embrace change are highly valued in Saxony-Anhalt, even in challenging times. The jury for the Saxony-Anhalt Business Award 2026 met today to select the nominees. The jury meeting marks an important milestone on the way to making outstanding companies and innovative start-ups in the state visible and recognizing their commitment to economic strength and future viability.
By the end of the application period on October 31, 2025, 66 applications had been received by the deadline. Of these, 39 applications were in the "Companies" category and 27 in the "Start-ups" category. The submissions are a clear signal of the efficiency and creative drive of Saxony-Anhalt's economy - especially in times of transformation, skills shortages and global uncertainties.
The submitted applications reflect a wide range of entrepreneurial approaches: from established medium-sized companies that invest in innovation, modernization and employment, to young founders who respond to current market and future issues with new business models.
The chair of the jury, State Secretary Stefanie Pötzsch, emphasized the importance of the competition for Saxony-Anhalt as a business location: "The applications impressively show how much entrepreneurial strength, innovative spirit and sense of responsibility there is in Saxony-Anhalt. Especially in times of change, we need people and companies who have the courage to break new ground and make their ideas visible."
At today's jury meeting, experts from business, chambers and associations voted on the applications submitted. The assessment was based on clearly defined criteria. These included economic development, innovation and transformation processes, measures to secure skilled workers and responsibility for the region and society.
