Well-trained skilled workers are the basis for growth, innovation and quality of life in Saxony-Anhalt. Since 2017, the VIETHOGA project of DEHOGA Sachsen-Anhalt e. V. has been successfully recruiting motivated young people from Vietnam for dual vocational training in Germany - in a fair, transparent and practical way. The project thus makes an important contribution to strengthening companies in many sectors with qualified young talent and ensuring the future viability of the state.
On October 2, 2025, together with DEHOGA Sachsen-Anhalt e. V., the Magdeburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Magdeburg Chamber of Skilled Crafts, we will welcome the new participants of the 2025 training year in Saxony-Anhalt. Economics Minister Sven Schulze will personally welcome the trainees and their training companies and emphasize the importance of the project for securing skilled workers in the state.
Media representatives are cordially invited to attend the event, find out about the project and the skilled labor measures for Saxony-Anhalt and then talk to those responsible for the project and the trainees.

Background: Since the start of the cooperation in the hotel and catering industry in June 2024, the VIETHOGA project has been continuously expanded: through partnerships with the Magdeburg Chamber of Skilled Crafts and the Magdeburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce, skilled trades and industrial-technical professions have been added. A total of 352 occupational profiles are now available - since 2025 also in cooperation with the chambers of dentists and pharmacists. Another milestone was the agreement on language acquisition at B2 level (November 2024), on the basis of which the first language courses began in Hanoi at the start of 2025.
