To mark the 100th anniversary of the Green Week, Saxony-Anhalt is presenting itself in Hall 23b with three of its own traditional anniversaries, regional diversity and a strong network of agriculture, the food industry, culture, tourism and business.
Magdeburg / Berlin. Saxony-Anhalt's Minister President Dr. Reiner Haseloff, Economics and Agriculture Minister Sven Schulze and State Secretary for Agriculture Gert Zender are visiting the Green Week in Berlin. In addition to the traditional stand visits in Saxony-Anhalt Hall 23b, they are also planning to take part in talks, panel discussions and various events with representatives from politics, business and the agricultural and food sector throughout the trade fair.
Green Week 2026 will be marked by several anniversaries: while the leading international trade fair celebrates its 100th anniversary, Saxony-Anhalt itself is bringing three strong brand anniversaries to Berlin. Wikana is celebrating its 120th anniversary, Weißenfelser Handelsgesellschaft is celebrating its 70th anniversary and Rotkäppchen is celebrating 170 years of sparkling wine tradition. These brands are exemplary of the traditional economy, strong regions and the identity of Saxony-Anhalt. They show what the state is all about: passion for quality, regional value creation, secure jobs and a special sense of home.
"Three anniversaries in one year - that shows how much strength, tradition and innovative power there is in Saxony-Anhalt," says Saxony-Anhalt's Minister of Economic Affairs and Agriculture, Sven Schulze. "For many people, Wikana, Filinchen and Rotkäppchen are part of their own history and stand for values that characterize our state: regional identity, quality and reliability. At the Green Week, our exhibitors bring this special mix to Berlin. That makes us proud - and I look forward to working with them to show how diverse and future-oriented our Saxony-Anhalt is."
Saxony-Anhalt in Hall 23b: diversity, exchange and strong figures
From 16 to 25 January 2026, Saxony-Anhalt will be presenting itself as usual in State Hall 23b. Over 100 exhibitors from all regions will be showcasing what the state has to offer in terms of cuisine, tourism and culture. This year's Agriculture Day on January 23 will be dedicated to the topic of "Corn".
On January 19, Minister President Dr. Reiner Haseloff and Minister Sven Schulze will jointly open Saxony-Anhalt Day. Prior to this, Minister President Haseloff will award the EDEKA Regional Prize 2026 in the early afternoon.
In the evening, Minister Schulze welcomes over 700 guests to the traditional state evening.
Saxony-Anhalt as a strong network at the Green Week
For Saxony-Anhalt, the Green Week is much more than just a trade fair - it is a meeting place. Agriculture, the food industry, tourism, culture, politics and business all come together here. It is precisely this proximity that makes the state's appearance so special: all the players who are working together to create a strong, vibrant and future-oriented Saxony-Anhalt meet here in one place.
"Our Saxony-Anhalt Hall has long since ceased to be an insider tip," continues Minister Sven Schulze. "People who are driving our state forward come together here - in agriculture, politics, business, tourism and culture. This direct exchange, this cooperation across all levels, is what makes our presence so strong. And that is exactly what I appreciate about Saxony-Anhalt: We tackle things together - and bring them to success together," says Minister Sven Schulze.
His special thanks go to the Saxony-Anhalt Agricultural Marketing Company (AMG), headed by Dr. Jörg Bühnemann, which designs and develops the state's image. "Our AMG ensures that Hall 23b is always a place where many people feel at home - and where our Saxony-Anhalt shines far beyond our state borders every year," says Minister Sven Schulze.
