Saxony-Anhalt with a new concept at the Green Week in Berlin

It is the global hotspot for industry representatives from the food, agriculture and horticulture sectors: the Green Week in Berlin. The leading trade fair will once again open its doors in the capital from January 19 to 28, 2024. Saxony-Anhalt will once again be represented this year on around 2000 square meters of exhibition space. A new concept will focus more strongly on the state's adventure regions.

Development, growth and encounters: this is what Saxony-Anhalt Hall 23b at the Green Week in Berlin stands for. A new concept scores points this year with modern stand construction and an appealing new structure. For the first time, the exhibitors and attractions in the hall will be visually assigned to different tourist regions.

Minister President Dr. Reiner Haseloff: "These days, the Green Week must send a clear signal that politics and society stand behind agriculture. Saxony-Anhalt is once again presenting itself at the trade fair as an efficient and touristically attractive state. Visitors should be given a taste for exploring the different regions of our federal state in the truest sense of the word. We are proud of our agriculture and food industry, which has become inextricably linked with tourism. Saxony-Anhalt is also worth a visit in 2024."

Agriculture Minister Sven Schulze: "We are delighted to be able to present ourselves to visitors to the Green Week this year with a new and even more modern trade fair presence. In this way, we are drawing more attention to the diverse regions of our country. In addition, the Green Week offers a proven showcase of the strong and innovative agricultural and food industry in Saxony-Anhalt. We cordially invite you to talk to industry representatives and to visit our Saxony-Anhalt Hall 23b."

AMG Managing Director Dr. Jörg Bühnemann: "In the Saxony-Anhalt Hall, our guests can experience and, of course, taste the largest selection of regional specialties from our federal state in one place. The culinary delicacies include classics, but also new and unusual products. In addition to traditional companies in the sector, numerous smaller manufacturers will be presenting themselves, impressing with their wealth of ideas and keen sense of trends."

The sharpened regional focus and the intuitive combination of the food industry and tourism create an enjoyable trade fair mix. For example, the Saale-Unstrut wine region invites visitors to linger in a wine lounge. The Böllberg brewery of Lebenshilfe Halle e.V. will be presenting an award-winning cellar beer for the first time. New food developments will also be presented for the first time at the Green Week. So feasting is a must!

Constantly changing theme days throughout the trade fair will make a visit to Saxony-Anhalt unforgettable at any time. The spotlight on the big stage will be on the regions and their people. Interviews, artists' groups and valuable information from the Altmark to the Burgendland district will present the colorful diversity of Saxony-Anhalt in Berlin in an entertaining way.

The changing presentations by universities and research institutions reflect Saxony-Anhalt's innovative spirit. The #moderndenken state marketing stand will focus on innovative projects in the agriculture and food industry. Farmer Jonas Schulze Niehoff, for example, is a pioneer in the cultivation of chickpeas in Germany. Thanks to his curiosity and spirit of discovery, he has managed to ensure that hummus is now also produced regionally - in the heart of the Magdeburger Börde.

Another highlight of the trade fair marathon is the Saxony-Anhalt Day on January 22. The presentation of the EDEKA Bioregional Award on this day will reveal the secret of the best local organic product in 2023. Guests are invited to exchange ideas and socialize later in the evening.

Background: The Green Week will take place for the 88th time in 2024 and is one of the most traditional trade fairs in Germany. Founded in 1926 in Berlin in the Golden Twenties, it is unique as the leading international trade fair for food, agriculture and horticulture. Exhibitors from all over the world present an extensive range of products over the ten days of the event.
