From June 17 to 20, 2026, Saxony-Anhalt will be showcasing itself at Viva Technology (VivaTech) in Paris, Europe’s largest technology and innovation trade show. Germany is this year’s official partner country for the event. The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) is organizing a German joint booth covering approximately 900 square meters in collaboration with the federal states and numerous startups.
At the invitation of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Tourism, Agriculture, and Forestry of the State of Saxony-Anhalt (MWL), companies from Saxony-Anhalt will participate in the presentation in front of tens of thousands of trade visitors from around the world. Represented jointly are the Investment and Marketing Company of Saxony-Anhalt mbH (IMG), de:hub Life Science & Bioeconomy from the Weinberg Campus in Halle (Saale), and bmp Ventures AG, the partner for early-stage and growth financing in Saxony-Anhalt.
Saxony-Anhalt’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Michael Richter, said: “VivaTech offers Saxony-Anhalt an excellent platform to showcase our innovative strength and the capabilities of our startups on the international stage. Our state possesses strong expertise and dynamic networks, particularly in the fields of life sciences, digitalization, and sustainable technologies.”
The Saxony-Anhalt-based companies and startups Solar Materials, Litherm, CYNiO, byte robotics, neotiv, and MAFiS will present their technologies and solutions to an international audience of industry professionals.
A special highlight of the program is a joint stage presentation titled “Ecosystem Showcase: Where to Build and Scale the Next Life Science Breakthrough.” The presentation is scheduled to take place on June 19, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 2:20 p.m. and will be organized in collaboration with the other participants from Saxony-Anhalt. The focus will be on the conditions for innovation and growth for life sciences companies in the state.

Solar Materials
Founded in 2021 and now the recipient of numerous awards, SOLAR MATERIALS GmbH has developed a patented recycling technology that recovers 98% of the raw materials in silicon solar modules. Using a fully automated thermomechanical process, the company focuses on the cost-effective recovery of silver, silicon, and high-quality glass. The energy-efficient process requires no chemicals, making the recycling particularly resource-efficient.
Litherm:
Committed to decarbonization: Litherm Technologies GmbH is developing a fully electric calcination technology for the climate-neutral production of lime and cement. The Litherm process completely avoids fossil fuels, produces no flue gas, and makes the unavoidable process CO₂ available as a pure byproduct for CCU or CCS applications. The goal is the industrial decarbonization of one of the most emission-intensive basic materials industries.
CYNiO:
CYNiO GmbH is an innovative chemical startup focused on the safe, flexible, and sustainable production of CO2-based isocyanates—completely without phosgene. The company fills a key market gap by economically producing specialized isocyanates, thereby providing targeted support for research, development, and industrial applications. CYNiO won the 2026 Saxony-Anhalt Business Award in the startups category.

“Command the robots, Design the Future” is the motto of byte robotics GmbH. The spin-off is developing a groundbreaking software technology for the automatic generation of cycle-time-optimized, collision-free industrial robot programs. The technology is integrated into existing industrial software for robot programming or directly linked to robotic systems. Familiar workflows are preserved. The robot programs themselves are extremely time- and energy-efficient.
neotiv:
neotiv GmbH develops patient-centered digital biomarkers for the early detection of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer’s, and integrates them into a user-friendly software platform to support diagnosis and care. The company works closely with academic partners and leverages the latest neuroscientific findings.
MAFiS:
The biotechnology startup MAFiS is developing an innovative method for controlled cell lysis. The so-called magnetic field mill uses moving magnetic fields to precisely control ferromagnetic grinding media. This allows cells to be broken down mechanically in an efficient, energy-efficient manner without causing significant stress to the product. As a result, valuable components such as proteins, enzymes, or biopolymers can be extracted gently and with minimal contamination.
