Magdeburg/Leuna. A clear future for the Leuna chemical site: Following the insolvency of DOMO Caproleuna GmbH, operations will be continued by a new company. This company is backed by InfraLeuna and LEUNA-Harze.
To this end, the companies have taken over, among other things, the central facilities at the Leuna site. This will allow production at the site to continue. More than 430 jobs will be preserved as a result of the takeover. The state, the companies, and the insolvency administrators worked together on this.
Saxony-Anhalt’s Minister President Sven Schulze says: “This is good news for Leuna and for our entire state, but above all for the employees of DOMO. Together, we have found a viable solution. This shows that when everyone pulls together, we can secure industrial sites even in difficult situations and shape the future of Saxony-Anhalt.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone involved—the company and its employees, the insolvency administrator, InfraLeuna, Leuna-Harze, and all other local stakeholders. This solidarity was crucial. The state government
also pulled together on this. The State Chancellery, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Ministry of the Environment, and the Ministry of Finance worked closely and reliably together. This joint effort was an important part of the success.”
