Green Week in Berlin - Discover regional delicacies from the Altmark region

At the Green Week in Berlin from January 19 to 28, 2024, the Altmark will be presenting itself with numerous exhibitors at a joint stand. In Saxony-Anhalt Hall 23b, visitors can look forward to culinary insights into the Altmark - product classics that are typical of the region and product innovations will convince guests that regionality, short distances, sustainability in production and distribution are lived here - true to the motto "From farm to fork".

With 19 co-exhibitors, including Altmark companies and tourist information offices, the Altmark stand will make you want to discover the region. Visitors to the trade fair will be informed about all kinds of new and innovative things in addition to tourist offers. This year's partner at the Altmark stand is the Erste Salzwedeler Baumkuchenfabrik from Salzwedel.

Bio Edelpilze Altmark c/o mannuš feine kost manufaktur presents regionally grown fine mushrooms from Heeren and all kinds of delicatessen variations. The professional beekeeper Behrendt from Stendal presents exquisite honey. Küppers Altmärker Wildfrucht GmbH from Behrendorf near Werben will be presenting special delicatessen products made from aronia berries and rose hips. Altmark Mühle Fuchs from Groß Garz will be presenting its Altmark flour - milled, wholemeal and in organic quality. Regional aquavit made from sea buckthorn will be presented by the Stendal private brewery with its "Ödeldödel". Schulzens Brauerei from Tangermünde and Stendaler Landbäckerei will be catering for the "physical well-being" of trade fair visitors on the first weekend of the fair.

"Tag der Altmark" on January 20
Saturday, January 20, 2024 will be all about the region. The traditional "Day of the Altmark" will offer visitors an extensive program - musical entertainment by the duo "Sandy and Zigge", dance performances by the Treuen Husaren from Stendal, presentations by regional companies and the Altmark box will form the heart of the Altmark Day.
The regional seal "echt Altmark" will be a real treat: the first regional seal dish "Beschwipstes Rind im Altmark-Topf" will be presented at the Altmark Day. Visitors to the trade fair can taste the dish, which was created with high-quality, regional products from the regional seal bearers Mein BioRind, Garley and Altmark-Mühle Fuchs.

The Altmark stand will also provide information about the major regional festival, which will take place in 2024 in the middle of the Altmark, in the Hanseatic city of Stendal: Under the motto "Medieval meets modern", the "23rd Saxony-Anhalt Day" from August 30 to September 1, 2024 will present the diversity of the Rolandstadt, the Altmark and the entire federal state to the expected 150,000 or so visitors.

The Altmark Day will be opened by the District Administrator of the Stendal district, Patrick Puhlmann, and the District Administrator of the Altmark district of Salzwedel, Steve Kanitz. All Altmarkers and those interested in the Altmark are cordially invited to visit the regional day!

In cooperation with the PVGS, the Salzwedeler Urania e.V. is offering a bus trip to the Green Week 2024 on Altmark Day on January 20, 2024. Departure is at 6.30 a.m. in the Hanseatic town of Salzwedel - arrival in Salzwedel around 8.00 p.m. A few places are still available - anyone interested can register with Salzwedeler Urania e.V. by 17 January by calling 03901-27733.

"Altmark box to go" is presented
The "Altmark box to go" will be presented as a novelty: The popular gift box was previously only available in a large format, a real "perennial favorite" as a gift with an insight into the variety of regional products - but rather unwieldy as a souvenir or at events. Now there is the "Altmark box to go" in handy pocket format - with Altmark classics from Stallbaum GbR, Küppers Altmärker Wildfrucht, Otto Mewes Landwirtschaft and the Wabenkönig brand.

The Altmärkische Regionalmarketing- und Tourismusverband (ART) was responsible for the preparations and planning for the joint Altmark stand in cooperation with the two Altmark districts. Carla Reckling-Kurz, Managing Director of the ART, is delighted with the variety of exhibitors presenting the Altmark at the international trade fair and has positive expectations for the fair. "We expect lasting impulses from good discussions and the exchange of new contacts for the supra-regional marketing of the Altmark."
