Minister of Economic Affairs Sven Schulze will attend the official ground-breaking ceremony for Südzucker AG's BioEnergyHub in Elsteraue on Monday, October 27, and will give a welcoming address. With the new BioEnergyHub in Zeitz, Südzucker is expanding the sugar factory with a future-oriented energy project. The aim is to gradually make production independent of fossil fuels. The project is made possible by climate protection funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy as part of the climate protection agreements. An additional component of the project is the use of processed fermentation residues, which can be used as a sustainable, organic fertilizer in agriculture in the future.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited to report on the project.
