MANSFELD-SÜDHARZ is located in the southwest of the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt in the middle of Germany, right in the middle of the action! The district town is Sangerhausen. The north of the district is dominated by the Mansfeld uplands. To the east is the Harz foreland with its almost forest-free and undulating landscape. With direct access to the A 38 Südharz highway and indirect access to the A 71, the municipality is connected to the Leipzig - Göttingen and Erfurt - Würzburg metropolitan areas. The municipality is characterized by its eventful history and the unique natural landscape. The main economic sectors in the municipality of Südharz are plant construction in Roßla, gypsum mining with gypsum processing, timber logistics and timber processing in Rottleberode and tourism in Stolberg.
