The town of Harzgerode is an important industrial and commercial location in the region. With around 1500 jobs in the manufacturing industry and a total of well over 3000 jobs subject to social insurance contributions, the town is an economic heavyweight in the region. With its elementary school, community and secondary school, the most beautiful outdoor pool in the Harz Mountains and indoor pool, gyms, sports facilities and playgrounds, among other things, the town offers a wide range of schools and excellent opportunities for sporting and recreational activities.
