  • Greatview Aseptic Packaging invests up to 23 million Euros in the expansion of its German factory. Following consecutive years of very strong growth, Greatview Aseptic Packaging has taken a decision to enlarge its German factory in Halle (Saale). A strong increase in Greatview’s international sales resulted in a 55% increase in 2015 over the previous year in the number of packages produced in the Halle factory. Find out more.

  • Goodman and Hellmann Worldwide Logistics celebrate opening of new 22,000 sqm logistics centre at Star Park Halle.  Goodman, a global leading owner, developer and manager of logistics real estate, handed over a new logistics centre at Star Park in Halle to Hellmann Worldwide Logistics. In opening the new facility, Hellmann has expanded its offering for multi-channel retailers of DIY articles and customers in the consumer electronics industry. Read more.

  • The German cloud is growing: Deutsche Telekom continues to develop Germany as its IT base. T-Systems, the corporate customer arm of Deutsche Telekom, will today lay the first stone in the extension of its data center in Biere, contributing to the further expansion of Germany as a base for cloud computing. Since the commissioning of the twin data centers in Biere and nearby Magdeburg in 2014, global demand for cloud services has continued to increase hugely. Read more.

  • Mercateo starts B2B platform in Switzerland. Mercateo AG is now online with a procurement platform in Switzerland. At www.mercateo.ch both existing international customers and new customers whose companies are based in Switzerland are able to link the Mercateo system solution to their merchandise management systems throughout Europe.   • Attractive framework conditions at the Leuna chemicals park. In the presence of State Premier Dr Reiner Haseloff, the open day began at the Leuna Chemical Park and the expansion investment of Mammoet Deutschland GmbH was officially inaugurated.   • Plan Digitization Precisely with the Industry 4.0 CheckUp. The importance of digitization in supply chains is growing by leaps and bounds. Many companies are converting their operations or planning to do so. What are the right actions to take? Not every plan to use Industry 4.0 technologies is expedient and cost effective. The Fraunhofer IFF has developed an Industry 4.0 CheckUp, which enables companies in any industry to analyze their digitization capability systematically and plan effective actions individually.   • Research worth several millions for super cap in electric vehicles. Scientists at the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg are developing new drive concepts for electric vehicles to improve both the range and the electromagnetic compatibility of the cars and to make them more viable for everyday life and more user-friendly in the future.
