Hightech
HERE top performances are created

Saxony-Anhalt has already made a name for itself internationally as a dynamic high-tech region. Pioneering technologies are created HERE - supported by a dense network of research-intensive institutes and universities, innovative companies and future-oriented start-ups.
With the best economic conditions, a modern infrastructure, a specialized workforce and strong research clusters, Saxony-Anhalt as a location for innovation offers an ideal environment for investment and cooperation in the high-tech sector.
The focus is on key sectors such as biotechnology and life sciences, artificial intelligence and data analysis, renewable energies as well as environmental and production technologies. Saxony-Anhalt brings innovations into application in a targeted manner.
An innovation hub in the heart of Europe
Why is Saxony-Anhalt one of the most dynamic technology locations in Germany?
Saxony-Anhalt offers a combination of locational advantages that make the state a true innovation hub in the heart of Europe. Here are the most important features:
Microelectronics
Saxony-Anhalt is located in the heart of Europe - and strategically positioned in Central Germany, which has developed into one of the most dynamic microelectronics clusters in Europe.
With excellent infrastructure, available industrial space and a dense network of research institutions, universities, global technology groups, SMEs and start-ups, Saxony-Anhalt has positioned itself as a high-performance location for the semiconductor industry.
In the south-west of Magdeburg, a supra-regional industrial and commercial area is being developed on a total gross area of 1,100 hectares. The High-Tech Park is a concentrated industrial and commercial area in which technology companies, suppliers, scientific institutions, start-ups, service providers and commercial enterprises are active. A campus is being built at the center of the site to promote the exchange between business and science.

Europe's largest investment opportunity

High-Tech Park
The High-Tech Park, the largest industrial area in Saxony-Anhalt with a gross area of 1,100 hectares, presents itself as a pioneering step into the future. Of this total area, around 700 hectares are available as open space.
High-tech innovations that move the world
Saxony-Anhalt is increasingly establishing itself as one of the most forward-looking high-tech locations in Europe. The federal state relies on a dynamic interplay of established industries and future-oriented key sectors. Saxony-Anhalt is particularly well positioned in the fields of microelectronics, chemicals and plastics, renewable energies, the food industry and life sciences, especially medical technology, pharmaceuticals and biotech.
High-tech innovations benefit from ideal framework conditions: well-developed infrastructures, short decision-making paths, high planning security and an efficient research and education landscape. Saxony-Anhalt scores highly with its close networking of science and business, progressive industrial parks and a clear political commitment to future technologies. Success stories such as the establishment of Avnet and Mercury underline the attractiveness for companies in the semiconductor and ICT sector.
An innovation-driven ecosystem is rooted HERE, which increases global competitiveness, grows sustainably and promotes new impulses.

Success stories
Life Sciences
Digital - IT, Software, Electronics
GISA
Headquartered in Halle (Saale),GISA is a leading IT service provider and certified cloud service provider with particular expertise in the energy industry and the public sector. As a full-service IT provider, GISA supports companies and institutions along the entire digital value chain - from strategic consulting and the development and implementation of customized solutions to comprehensive IT outsourcing. The company stands for secure, efficient and future-oriented IT services - especially in the cloud and digitalization of critical infrastructures.
point electronic
Global market leader for customized electronics and software for electron microscopes.
The Halle-based company has successfully occupied a niche with its technology and is the global market leader. The analysis tools from point electronic enable the measurement of positions, surface shapes, heights, volumes, angles, distances or surface shapes of samples. The focus here is on techniques that enable three-dimensional exploration and modeling of microstructures. Others are dedicated to functional properties: they record the electrical properties of conductors and semiconductors, such as the current conductivity at a specific point, existing electrical voltages or defects in the tiniest of components. The customers are as diverse as their requirements - the company supplies large corporations, start-ups, universities and research institutions in the fields of materials science, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and, above all, semiconductor technology on all continents.
Renewable energies and environmental technologies
Sivonic
SIVONIC GmbH from Barleben is a global pioneer with its high-performance measurement electronics for batteries and fuel cell technology. The so-called EIS meter from SIVONIC GmbH literally has it all. The two robust industrial housings with monitor and numerous connections have the appearance of an audio amplifier - but the inner workings have what it takes to revolutionize hydrogen production. With the help of high-performance impedance spectroscopy, it is possible to analyze electrolysers, fuel cells and batteries and thus optimize them. "The technology used is not new. The measurement process for small electrolysis fuel or battery cells has been established on a laboratory scale for many years. Our innovation lies in transferring the measurement process to industrial applications - i.e. for large electrolysers with high outputs and under real production conditions," explains Robert Benecke.
SOLAR MATERIALS
SOLAR MATERIALS GmbH, based in Magdeburg, specializes in the industrial recycling of solar modules. Founded in 2021, the cleantech company has developed an innovative, patented process that allows photovoltaic modules to be thermomechanically broken down into their individual components without the use of chemicals - with a recovery rate of up to 98%. In addition to glass, aluminum and plastics, the critical raw materials silicon and silver in particular are recovered by type. The course is set for growth.
TESVOLT
Tesvolt AG, based in Lutherstadt Wittenberg, focuses on applications in the field of renewable energies. Since its foundation in 2014, the company has established itself as a technology driver and today manufactures in Europe's first CO₂-neutral gigafactory for stationary energy storage systems. The leading manufacturer of battery storage systems for trade and industry develops modular storage solutions with capacities from 10 kWh to 20 MWh and offers tailor-made systems for peak load management, self-consumption optimization and off-grid energy supply.
