Science and business under one roof
Lower risks, less pain and quick recovery: these are just some of the advantages of modern image-guided minimally invasive procedures in medicine. The STIMULATE research campus - Solution Center for Image Guided Local Therapies - in Magdeburg, the capital of Saxony-Anhalt, is developing the future of medical treatment. The STIMULATE research campus is a binding public-private partnership between Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg , Siemens Healthcare GmbH and the STIMULATE Association, which brings together companies, non-university research institutions and other stakeholders. State-of-the-art laboratories are now housed in a former sugar warehouse in the Port of Science - a place where interdisciplinary research and state-of-the-art technology come together under one roof.
Directly adjacent, attractive settlement opportunities are being created for the research campus's business partners: a pioneering medical technology campus is developing. Building on this, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research's long-term TransferRaum project aims to promote a sustainable innovation ecosystem. The aim is to bring medical technology into application in a targeted manner and to establish a holistic concept for a medical technology eco-centre, taking into account not only science and business, but also cultural aspects such as housing and quality of life - developed and tested in a participatory, locally anchored manner and in dialogue with local people.
