Chemical site with tradition shines as an international beacon
Germany's only agro-chemical park is located in the Piesteritz district of Lutherstadt Wittenberg. It stands for over 100 years of tradition and expertise in the chemical industry. More than 50 companies have settled around SKW Stickstoffwerke Piesteritz GmbH, Germany's largest producer of ammonia and urea - including LAT Nitrogen Piesteritz GmbH. It operates Europe's most modern melamine plant in the Agro-Chemie Park Piesteritz and produces melamine for industrial applications.
The future-oriented location in the south of Saxony-Anhalt offers ideal conditions for networking and the development of innovative environmental products - such as AdBlue® for the exhaust gas aftertreatment of diesel engines, the more climate-friendly variant AdBlue® alpha and environmentally friendly fertilizers such as ALZON® neo-N from SKW Stickstoffwerke.
The Agro-Chemie Park is particularly aware of its responsibility for the youngest members of our society: the SKW Piesteritz Group maintains three company children's facilities, an after-school care center and a health center here.
