Willingmann: “High-performance universities and excellently trained skilled workers significantly contribute to the success of the IT industry”
Cloud-computing, IT safety and e-health – these are the focal points for the German federal state of Saxony-Anhalt’s IT industry at this year’s CeBIT. The IT trade show will take place from March 20 - 24 in Hannover. Companies from Saxony-Anhalt will present their creative and innovative solutions in the named sectors in hall 6/booth B47 at joint stand of the state, demonstrating the state’s huge innovation potential. In addition, universities and higher education institutions will also come together at the joint “Research for the Future” booth in hall 6/booth B24, topped off by the participation of individual exhibitors from the Saxony-Anhalt region.
Around 350 fast-growing, innovative and globally acting small and medium-sized businesses operate in Saxony-Anhalt’s IT and communication technology sector, including global players such as DELL, IBM and T-Systems. Prof. Dr Armin Willingmann, Saxony-Anhalt’s Minister for Ecomics, Sciences and Digitalization, says: “This mix is the basis for the success of the Saxony-Anhalt IT industry. The state has become an important base for IT companies in the past few years. Above all, our high-performance universities and research institutes as well as the excellently trained skilled workers contribute decisively to the success of the IT industry. "
Willingmann and State Secretary, Thomas Wünsch, will be attending CeBIT on Tuesday, March 21, from 3pm. Media representatives are invited for reporting. The Minister and State Secretary will be available for discussion at the state booth.
