In the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, a fast-growing supply industry has evolved for the automotive industry. Excellent knowledge of mechanical engineering and highly-qualified skilled personnel are key factors that will see Saxony-Anhalt continue to maintain a leading position in the future in a European context. Some 250 plus firms in this federal state, employing around 18,000 people, supply high-quality automotive components to such well-known automotive manufacturers as BMW. The automotive suppliers have joined forces in competence networks such as MAHREG and AL-CAST, where products are further developed in collaboration using science and technology.
The list of references for the automotive supplier ELDISY in Gardelegen is also pretty impressive. Automotive producers such as Audi, VW, Porsche and DaimlerChrysler now belong to the company's customers. ELDISY specializes in rubber and plastic components for cars, particularly however in seals for doors. The company has been expanding ever since it opened in 2001. With a turnover of 17.5 million euros last year, it is set to top 23 million euros this year.
The expansion of the industrial premises of ELDISY GMBH in Gardelegen, Saxony-Anhalt, was supported by the EU structure fund EFRE and has helped to create some 280 secure jobs since the company's foundation.
