The nationwide ban on major events until 31st August 2020, which was announced by the Federal Government and the federal states on 15 April 2020, also affects certain trade fair formats such as gamescom. For this reason, the management, in close coordination with the game - Association of the German Games Industry - decided to hold gamescom this year in purely digital form (25 - 29 August 2020). 

The gamescom team is already working on a development of appropriate digital modules in addition to the event's already proven digital formats.
