From 28 February until 2 March 2018, BATTERY JAPAN opens its doors - world's largest international exhibition specialized in rechargeable batteries.

At its booth at the German Pavilion, the Investment and Marketing Corporation presents the business location Saxony-Anhalt in the fields of batteries, e-mobility, renewable energies as well as solutions in the fields of storage systems.

The IKAM research institute is an example for Saxony-Anhalt’s excellence in the area of R&D for fuel cells. At its sites in Magdeburg and Barleben, it provides facilities and services for the testing of batteries and fuel cells for electric vehicles for research purposes.

Scientists at the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg research in the field of fuel cells and have worked successfully in international projects, the Harz University of Applied Sciences develops electric drive and control systems.

ifak Research Institute for Automation and Communication

The ifak research institute for automation and communication inter alia is researching inductive charging towards “interoperability”, optimized methods for the application of batteries for electric buses of public transport companies or cost-effective charging infrastructures for the special requirements of electric buses.

"Battery HUB" in Barleben

The city of Barleben, located in the north of Saxony-Anhalt, is a competence centre for fuel cells in the state. Here, for example, the company FuelCon AG has made a name for itself with its test benches for fuel cell systems, Elektromotoren und Gerätebau Barleben GmbH is inter alia expert for special drives, PT&B SILCOR GmbH develops for example coatings in fuel cells. The innovation and foundation centre for the research and development, the Zentrum für Elektromobilität und Energieeffizienz – ZEE in Barleben provides offices and production halls to companies and start-ups related to e-mobility and energy efficiency.
